The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has not captured Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa, confirmed bureau Director Melvin Matibag on Tuesday, amid talks of the fugitive’s arrest.

In a report by RH 15 Jecelle Ricafort, the NBI’s manhunt operations for former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s co-accused in crimes against humanity charges remain ongoing.

Meanwhile, Dela Rosa’s legal counsel, Atty. Israelito Torreon, told DZRH that he has no information on the supposed arrest of his client.

Torreon said he has had no contact with the senator since May 14 early morning, around two hours before he left the Senate building.

On May 11, the NBI attempted to serve Dela Rosa his arrest warrant, issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague, Netherlands.

The senator managed to evade law enforcement by seeking Senate protection and escaping its premises, allegedly aided by Senator Robinhood “Robin” Padilla.

Prior to his sudden reappearance at the Senate plenary hall, he was last seen on November 11, 2025. He remained absent for six months, following rumors of the ICC arrest warrant.

While he initially declared that he was ready to join Duterte in The Hague, he later admitted he did not want to leave his family behind.
