Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa has yet to respond to calls for his decision to forego accepting salaries and allowances due to his continued absence, said Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III.

According to Sotto, this appeal has long been communicated to dela Rosa’s daughter, Marianne dela Rosa, who serves as his chief of staff in the Senate. However, there has been no response, as reported by RH 12 Milky Rigonan.

The senate head urged dela Rosa to come to a decision on the matter before it reaches the Senate Commission on Ethics, who will decide for him if he continues to stay silent.

Senator Joseph Victor “JV” Ejercito, chair of the Committee on Ethics, has seconded Sotto’s appeal.

Earlier, Ejercito said the ethics complaint could be dismissed if dela Rosa voluntarily waives salaries and allowances while absent.

Dela Rosa has not attended Senate sessions and official activities since November 11, 2025, following reports of a potential arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) in connection with his role in former President Rodrigo Duterte’s bloody War on Drugs.
