A barangay chairman and his companion were shot repeatedly in General Mamerto Natividad, Nueva Ecija Tuesday morning.

According to a report by RH 25 Grace Sansano, the victims were identified as Barangay Kabulihan Chairman Arthur Bautista, 40, and Conrado Villena, 56, a resident of the same barangay.

At past 8:00 a.m., residents heard multiple shots and soon after found Bautista and Villena sprawled on the ground. The two were rushed to the nearest hospital, but the barangay captain died of his injuries. His companion is currently receiving treatment, as of reporting.

Investigators have gained access to the CCTV footage of the shooting incident to fast-track the probe.

Police Regional Office 3 Police Director PBGen. Jess Mendez ordered the immediate arrest of the suspect.
