A 42-year-old barangay councilor was wounded in a shooting incident in Bais City, Negros Oriental on Monday, October 19, RH Rex Cantong reported.

According to the initial investigation by the Bais City Police Station, the victim was shot at a stockyard in Barangay Lonoy.

The victim, a resident of Barangay Sab-ahan in the same city, sustained a gunshot wound to the back of the body.

The victim is currently receiving medical treatment at Bais City District Hospital.
