The Bangsamoro Federalist Party (BFP) and United Bangsamoro Justice Party (UBJP) continued to lead the regional parliamentary political party (RPPP) race in the first Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) parliamentary elections, based on partial and unofficial results from the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV).
As of 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 15, the BFP had garnered 659,405 votes, while the UBJP followed with 607,966 votes.
The BARMM Grand Coalition (BGC) ranked third with 386,027 votes.
Other parties posted the following vote counts:
- Raayat Democratic Party — 67,846
- Progresibong Bangsamoro Party (Pro Bangsamoro Party) — 36,482
- Bangsamoro Party (BAPA) — 35,397
- Bangsamoro Empowerment and Social Transformation Party (BEST Party) — 26,744
- Moro Ako Party — 16,701
- Mahardika Party — 14,745
- Alliance of Bangsamoro Tri-People’s Party (ABOT) — 11,294
- People’s Consultative (MUSHAWARA) — 8,006
- Indigenous, Settlers, Sama and Minorities Alliance Party (ISAMA) — 3,305
- Partido Bangon Bangsamoro (PBB) — 2,587
Under the BARMM parliamentary system, 40 seats will be allocated through the regional parliamentary political party elections based on each party’s share of the total votes. The party’s nominated candidates will fill the seats won by their respective parties.
The remaining 40 seats in the 80-member Bangsamoro Parliament will consist of 32 district representatives and eight sectoral representatives.
Under the updated rules, parties now need to obtain at least 2.5% of the total valid votes in the party-system elections to secure a seat in the regional parliament, down from the previous 4% threshold, according to the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA).
