The Bureau of Customs (BOC), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), and the Department of Agriculture - National Meat Inspection Service (DA-NMIS) raided a warehouse containing tons of frozen meat products on Galilian St., Barangay Tatalon, Quezon City, on Thursday, August 14.
RH 5 Val Gonzales reported that at least 10 refrigerated trucks containing tons of meat have already been cordoned off by the operatives.
Agriculture Spokesperson Assistant Secretary Arnel De Mesa earlier revealed that the DA-NMIS will conduct a raid operation in the area, but did not further elaborate as the inventory is still ongoing.
According to residents, the raided warehouse is owned by a huge company that deals in various kinds of meat.
The warehouse is now guarded by the operatives of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Task Force Aduana, and has yet to reveal further details on the matter.
