Aurora Gaming PH pulled off an impressive comeback to beat Alter Ego 3-1 in the upper bracket semifinals of the M7 World Championships on Wednesday, January 21.
Facing a large gold disadvantage and under pressure from two enemy attacks on their base, Aurora held strong thanks to standout plays from Jonard “Demonkite” Caranto, Edward “Edward” Dapadap, and Jan “Domengkite” Delmundo. Their teamwork turned the game around and secured the series win.
Aurora started strong with a decisive Game 1 victory, lost Game 2 to Alter Ego, but quickly regained control in the next two games. Key moments included a clutch double kill by Demonkite and strong performances from Edward and Domengkite.
The win not only advances Aurora to the upper bracket finals but also guarantees them a top-three finish — a big improvement from their last M-series performance.
The team has now won five straight games after an early loss to Team Liquid.
