Drag comedian Ate Gay announced on Tuesday that he has been confined after experiencing side effects from his cancer treatments.

In a social media post, he shared that he had developed numerous canker sores in his mouth, which made eating difficult. He has been fed intravenously for the past two days.

“Late na ako nakaranas ng side effect .. di makakain dahil sa daming singaw ng bibig ko kaya nagpaconfine .. 48hrs yan nakatusok sa akin yan muna ang paraan ng pagpapakain,” he wrote.

In November, Ate Gay announced he had “graduated” from his 35-day radiation therapy and chemotherapy.

A month earlier, he disclosed in a sit-down interview with Ogie Diaz that an “angel” shouldered the cost of his expensive treatments at a good hospital.
