Karl Eldrew Yulo won the bronze medal in the men’s horizontal bar final at the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, on Friday, Sept. 25.

Yulo scored 13.666 to secure a spot on the podium at Nagoya General Gymnasium, adding another medal to the Philippines’ gymnastics haul.

His score included a 5.0 difficulty mark, an 8.566 execution score and a 0.1 bonus.

Yulo finished tied with Kazakhstan’s Milad Karimi, who also scored 13.666. The young Filipino gymnast took the bronze on the tiebreaker, with his higher execution score giving him the edge over Karimi, who posted a 7.766 execution score.

China’s Tian Hao won the gold with 14.700, while Japan’s Shinnosuke Oka settled for silver with 14.033.

Yulo’s podium finish came just hours after his older brother, Carlos Yulo, captured his second gold medal of the Games.

The result marked another milestone for the younger Yulo as he joined his brother as an Asian Games medalist and added to the Philippines’ gymnastics success in Aichi-Nagoya.
