The drizzle could not dampen the spirits of thousands of festival-goers as the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP), in partnership with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), opened its doors for the annual Pasinaya Open House Festival from February 7 to 8.

This year’s 20th Pasinaya features the theme, “Paglikha sa Kinabukasan” (Creating the Future), setting the tone for two days of exploration, collaboration, and sheer artistic joy.

The festival stretched far beyond the CCP Complex, with activities taking place at the Aliw Theater, Metropolitan Theater, Rizal Park, Circuit Makati, and even in Tagum City, Capiz, and Iloilo City, bringing the arts closer to communities across the nation.

Pasinaya, the country’s largest multi-arts festival, showcased over 150 performances, workshops, and activities in music, theater, dance, visual arts, film, and literature.

Festival-goers wandered between Palabas (shows), joined hands-on experiences in Palihan (workshops), connected through Palitan (networking), explored museum spaces in Paseo Museo, browsed creative goods at Pamilihan, and cheered for the winners of Paligsahan, the festival’s newest contest segment.

Among the many stories emerging from the festival, Teacher Shas, a local educator and content creator, shared her experience online facilitating a workshop in Palihan.

@teachershas Super grateful sainyong lahat, again super thanks to Sir Ian, Sir Bojo and syempre sa @Cultural Center PH for this opportunity 🥺🫶🏻 SANA MAY NATUTUNAN KAYO FROM ME ✨ #teachershas #sharc ♬ original sound - Teacher Shas

She and her students also captured the spotlight, winning the Paramihan (TikTok Competition) with a viral entry that garnered 51.9k views, blending creativity with digital storytelling.

The festival reached its crescendo during Pagdiriwang at the CCP Front Lawn, a lively celebration featuring performances from the country’s most respected cultural institutions.

Audiences were treated to mesmerizing presentations from the Ramon Obusan Folkloric Group, Philippine Madrigal Singers, Philippine Ballet Theatre, Ballet Philippines, Tanghalang Pilipino, Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra, UST Salinggawi Dance Troupe, Marikina Dance Guild, Pagbilao Street Dancers, FEU Dance Company, Bayanihan National Folk Dance Company, and Alice Reyes Dance Philippines.

Despite the gray skies and intermittent rain, the festival’s energy never faltered. Attendees moved from stage to stage, from workshop to market, embracing every form of artistic expression on display.

Pasinaya 2026 proved that Filipino creativity is unstoppable—thriving, connecting, and imagining the future rain or shine.

It was more than a festival; it was a living, breathing testament to the country’s vibrant cultural heart, uniting artists, educators, and audiences in one shared celebration of creativity.
