Ariana Grande drops new single 'hate that i made you love me,' leads upcoming album 'Petal'

Pop superstar Ariana Grande has released her new single titled “hate that i made you love me,” which serves as the lead track from her upcoming eighth studio album Petal, set for release on July 31.

The Grammy-winning artist dropped the song on Friday, May 29, marking her latest musical release under her label imprint BabyDoll Music, which is exclusively licensed to Republic Records.

Grande also wrote the track herself.

The album Petal was first announced on April 28 via Grande’s official Instagram account, where she described the 12-track project as “little feral.”

The record is scheduled to arrive in the middle of her ongoing Eternal Sunshine Tour, an arena run that begins June 8 in Oakland, California, and concludes with a 10-show residency at London’s The O2 Arena in September.

On May 27, Grande also shared a teaser for the official music video of “hate that i made you love me.” The clip opens with actor Justin Long looking into a rearview mirror before revealing Grande’s eyes staring back at him.

The full music video is scheduled to premiere on Monday, June 1, at 8 a.m. PT.
