Days after the passing of veteran actor and filmmaker Ricky Davao, his daughter Ara Davao penned a heartfelt message to her father.
In an Instagram post on Thursday, the actress lamented how difficult it is to accept that her father is now gone. She described how most of the remaining days will feel empty without the late actor.
Ara posted an Instagram carousel of herself holding Ricky’s urn at his wake, including more photos with her family.
“Many days will feel empty without you, but I find comfort in knowing you’re now free from pain and suffering,” she captioned her post.
“I know it won’t be easy, but I’ll keep trying to live my best life everyday—because that’s what you would’ve wanted,” she added.
The actress recalled how it’s been a week since her father’s passing, adding, “and a lifetime still to go.”
“I’ll miss you everyday. Rest well and watch over me. Love you, Pa,” she ended.

Several of her friends and celebrities consoled the actress in the comments section, offering their deepest condolences and prayers to the family.
The late actor passed away last week at the age of 63, after battling cancer. His family confirmed the news on May 2.
