Malacañang on Tuesday announced the appointment of lawyer Anna Liza Logan as the new Chief Presidential Legal Counsel, succeeding the late Juan Ponce Enrile, who died last month at the age of 101.

Logan’s appointment forms part of a broader reshuffle in the Palace under President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. Prior to her designation, Logan served as Executive Secretary for Legal Affairs.

She previously worked as a civil and criminal litigation lawyer, handling cases involving family law, labor disputes, and matters before the Human Settlements Adjudication Commission. She also practiced corporate and commercial law for several companies and organizations.

Logan has been associated with several law firms, including Marcos Ochoa Serapio and Tan, the law firm of First Lady Liza Marcos. She was also among the applicants in the past for the position of Ombudsman.

Her appointment follows the death of Enrile, who had served as Chief Presidential Legal Counsel before his passing.

Alongside Logan’s designation, Malacañang also announced several new appointments within the Office of the Executive Secretary:

  • Senior Deputy Executive Secretary: Atty. Maria Luwalhati Dorotan Tiuseco

  • Deputy Executive Secretary for General Administration: Atty. Danielle Marie Rieza-Culangen

  • Deputy Executive Secretary for Financial Affairs: Atty. Joseph Irvin A. Obenza

  • Deputy Executive Secretary for Legal Affairs: Atty. Jesse Hermogenes T. Andres (from the Department of Justice)

  • Undersecretary for Economic Affairs, OES: Atty. Erwin Sta. Ana

  • Assistant Secretary, OES: Atty. Alemar Mosquito
