World No. 1 pickleball player Anna Leigh Waters will headline the Franklin Asia Pickleball Showcase, which will open its multi-country tour in Manila on October 13 to 15.

The Manila event will be the first stop of the showcase, which will also visit Malaysia, Hong Kong and Vietnam.

Waters is expected to make an appearance and showcase Franklin Sports equipment during the Manila leg. The event will also feature the brand’s latest pickleball products, including its X-40 ball and an upcoming paddle launch.

Franklin Sports said the Philippines was selected as the opening destination as pickleball continues to expand in the country. The company cited a 1,213% year-over-year growth in the Philippine pickleball market.

“We are honored and excited to bring our Franklin Asia Pickleball Showcase to the Philippines,” said Jared Franklin, Head of International at Franklin Sports. “The Philippines is one of the fastest growing pickleball markets in the world, and we couldn’t be prouder to bring the No. 1 player in the world, Anna Leigh Waters, to Manila.”

The showcase will also include activities for local players and fans, although specific venues, schedules and fan interaction details have yet to be announced.

Franklin said further details about the Manila leg will be released in the coming weeks through its official social media accounts.
