Amihan to bring cloudy skies, rains in Luzon on Friday — PAGASA
by Mary Antalan26 December 2025

The northeast monsoon, or amihan, is affecting Luzon on Friday, December 26, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

In its 4:00 a.m. weather bulletin, PAGASA said that Batanes and the Babuyan Islands will experience cloudy skies with rains due to the amihan. Moderate to at times heavy rains may trigger possible flash floods or landslides in these areas.

Meanwhile, amihan will also bring cloudy skies with light rains over mainland Cagayan, Isabela, and Apayao, with no significant impact expected.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains, also due to the amihan, with no significant weather impact.

Elsewhere, the easterlies will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over the Visayas, Mindanao, and Palawan. PAGASA warned of possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Forecast wind and coastal water conditions

Extreme Northern Luzon will experience strong to gale-force winds moving northeast, with rough to very rough coastal waters.

The rest of Northern Luzon will have moderate to strong winds moving northeast, with moderate to rough coastal waters.

The rest of the country will experience light to moderate winds moving northeast, with slight to moderate coastal waters.

Sunrise is at 6:19 a.m., while sunset will be at 5:35 p.m.
