The state weather bureau, Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), reported that the northeast monsoon, locally known as ‘amihan’, continues to affect Extreme Northern Luzon, while easterlies prevail over the rest of the country.

According to PAGASA’s latest weather bulletin, the amihan is currently being felt mainly in the northernmost parts of Luzon, bringing cooler temperatures and light rains over Batanes and the Babuyan Islands. Skies in these areas are expected to be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated light rains due to the northeast monsoon.

Meanwhile, the easterlies — warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean — are affecting the rest of the country. These weather conditions are bringing scattered rain showers and localized thunderstorms, particularly during the afternoon and evening.

PAGASA said there are currently no tropical cyclones being monitored within the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

Over the next two to three days, no tropical cyclone formation or entry into the country’s monitoring area is expected. However, the public is advised to continue monitoring official updates for any significant changes in the forecast.

For the rest of Luzon, including Metro Manila, skies will be partly cloudy to cloudy with a low probability of widespread rainfall.

Any rain showers that may develop are expected to be isolated and mostly due to localized thunderstorms. No significant rainfall events are anticipated across much of Luzon at this time.

In the Visayas and Mindanao, cloudy skies with a higher chance of rain are expected over parts of Mindanao, particularly in the Davao Region, Surigao del Sur, Agusan del Sur, South Cotabato, and Sarangani.

These areas may experience scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the easterlies. Residents are advised to bring umbrellas and remain alert for possible localized flooding during heavy downpours.

The rest of the Visayas and Mindanao will have generally partly cloudy to cloudy skies, with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening.

No gale warning has been raised over any of the country’s seaboards. Sea conditions across Philippine waters are expected to be slight to moderate, making it generally safe for small sea vessels, though mariners are still advised to exercise caution, especially during thunderstorms.
