The Northeast Monsoon, or amihan, is affecting the country on Friday, January 23, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
Based on the state weather bureau’s 4:00 a.m. bulletin, cloudy skies with light rains are being experienced in Cagayan Valley, Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, Davao Region, Apayao, Ifugao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Aurora, Quezon, and Oriental Mindoro due to the amihan.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains, also brought by the northeast monsoon. These weather conditions are expected to have no significant impact.
PAGASA also reported that the Low Pressure Area (LPA), formerly Tropical Storm “Ada,” has re-entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility. As of 2 a.m., it was located 765 kilometers east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur, but is unlikely to develop into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours.
Another LPA was also spotted outside the PAR, located 1,875 kilometers east of Eastern Visayas as of 2:00 a.m., and is likewise unlikely to develop within the next 24 hours.
Sunrise is at 6:25 a.m., while sunset is at 5:51 p.m..
