

An American national was found lifeless inside his rented room at a lodge in Barangay Sabang, Baler, Aurora on Monday morning, June 15, Grace Sansano reported.
Based on the report of the Baler Police Station under the supervision of Major Donna Fe Galban and relayed to RD BGen Jess Mendez, the discovery was first reported by the owner of Jamjen Lodge, who immediately alerted authorities after finding the guest unresponsive.
Police responded to the scene at around 10:00 a.m., where they found the lifeless body of the victim inside the room he was temporarily staying in.
The victim was identified as David Blair Fernandez, a 63-year-old U.S. citizen, based on his identification documents. He was reportedly residing temporarily at E. Tower III, Damayan Garden, Mandaluyong City prior to his stay in Baler.
Authorities noted that there were no visible signs of struggle or disturbance inside the room, where the victim was also reportedly staying with a live-in partner who was not named in the initial report.
The lodge where the incident occurred is located in Barangay Sabang, a known tourist area in Baler, Aurora.
Baler police said they are continuing their investigation to determine the cause of death, with no final conclusions released as of this time.
The body of the victim has been turned over for proper examination as authorities await further forensic findings.
Jamjen Lodge has not yet issued a public statement regarding the incident.
Investigators are still gathering information from witnesses and reviewing possible medical or other factors that may have led to the death.
