Actor Alvin Aragon has once again stirred controversy after taking to social media to demand the removal of a popular talk show and its creative team, intensifying the ongoing debate over representation and morality in Philippine entertainment.

In a public post addressed to “Ma’am Annette”—widely understood to refer to GMA Network executive Annette Gozon‑Valdes, Aragon called for what he described as the removal of the “King of Talk” and the show’s writer from the network’s lineup. Although he did not explicitly name the host, netizens and entertainment observers say his remarks are clearly aimed at veteran talk show host Boy Abunda, who is frequently dubbed the “King of Talk” in Philippine media.

Aragon’s message criticized the program's influence on Filipino viewers, asserting that it has been used to “encourage and influence Filipino people, especially Filipino parents," regarding sexual orientation and gender identity. He also invoked religious beliefs in denouncing homosexuality.

The actor’s post quickly triggered strong reactions online, with many social media users condemning his language as divisive and harmful. Some critics labeled the post as an attempt to provoke reaction and gain attention, while others raised concerns about public figures imposing personal beliefs in mainstream media discussions.

This latest flare‑up follows earlier clashes between Aragon and Abunda. In February, Abunda publicly addressed Aragon’s remarks on the LGBTQIA+ community, saying at the time that the actor had “crossed a line” by making personal beliefs a public attack.

The exchange comes amid broader national conversations in Philippine society about media responsibility, freedom of expression, and the visibility of LGBTQIA+ individuals in popular culture.
