"We are finally going to be mommy and daddy!"
Actress and social media personality Alex Gonzaga announced that she is pregnant with her first child with husband Mikee Morada after years of trying to conceive and experiencing multiple miscarriages.
In an emotional video posted on social media, Gonzaga shared moments from her pregnancy journey, including the unwavering support of her family and Morada throughout the process.
The couple opened up about the challenges they faced over the years, particularly their struggles with miscarriage.
Gonzaga previously experienced a miscarriage in 2021, followed by another pregnancy loss in 2023.
“After almost six years of marriage and three heartbreaking losses, we never lost faith and continued to surrender everything to the Lord,” Gonzaga wrote in the caption of her post.
She also revealed that she and Morada had been preparing for in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatment before discovering that she had conceived naturally.
“While preparing for IVF, the Lord Jesus blessed us with a natural pregnancy. We want to thank everyone who prayed with us, hoped with us, and supported us through this journey to becoming parents,” the actress said.
“The Lord Jesus truly answers prayers. Please continue praying with us for a safe and healthy pregnancy until our baby arrives,“ she added.
The actress also proudly revealed her growing baby bump in the video.
Throughout the years, the couple remained open about their fertility struggles while relying on faith and the support of loved ones as they navigated their losses away from the public eye.
Fans and fellow celebrities flooded the couple’s post with congratulatory messages, including Robi Domingo, Toni Fowler, Iza Calzado, Carla Abellana, Loisa Andalio, Angeline Quinto, Yam Concepcion, and Gladys Reyes.
Gonzaga and Morada tied the knot in 2020.
