Alex Eala has withdrawn from the women’s doubles competition at the 2026 French Open following her early exit in singles, tournament records showed.
Eala and Canadian partner Victoria Mboko pulled out of their scheduled first-round match against the pair of Leylah Fernandez and Diana Shnaider. They were replaced in the draw by Oksana Selekhmeteva and Anastasia Zakharova.
No official announcement was made regarding the withdrawal, and no reason was provided.
The Filipina tennis standout bowed out of the singles tournament earlier this week after a 6-4, 6-2 loss to World No. 17 Iva Jovic on Tuesday.
Mboko, meanwhile, continues her campaign in Paris. She advanced to the second round of the singles draw and is set to face Katerina Siniakova.
Following her stint at Roland Garros, Eala is scheduled to shift her focus to the grass-court season. She is set to compete in the Lexus Birmingham Open, a WTA 125 event in the United Kingdom beginning June 1.
