Filipina tennis sensation Alex Eala has been awarded a wildcard entry to compete in the first-ever Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) 125 in the Philippine Women’s Open.

The tournament set to take place from January 26 to 31, 2026, at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center in Manila.

However, her participation will still depend on her performance in the Australian Open, as the Philippine tournament coincides with the second week of the season’s first Grand Slam, as reported by DZRH TV reporter Millie Borja.

The Rizal Memorial Tennis Center is currently undergoing renovations, supported by the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), the National Sports Training Institute of the Philippines (NSTIC), and the Philippine Tennis Association (PhilTA), in preparation for the event.

The 32 player singles main draw will feature 24 direct entries, 4 wildcards, and 4 qualifiers. The tournament will also include a 16-pair qualifying draw and a 16-pair doubles main draw.

Organizers have said that additional details about the tournament will be released in the coming weeks.
