Filipino tennis star Alex Eala secured a spot in the finals of the 2026 Mubadala DC Open after defeating former world No. 1 Naomi Osaka in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2, during their semifinal match.

Eala displayed composure and consistency throughout the match, overcoming one of the biggest names in women's tennis to move one step closer to capturing the tournament title.

The Filipina tennis standout will now face top seed Jessica Pegula in the championship round.
