Alden Richards and Nadine Lustre are pairing up for their biggest series yet, bringing the Siargao magic to our screens!
On Wednesday, January 14, streaming platform Viu Philippines announced the title of the two actors’ upcoming 26-episode series, “Love, Siargao,” scheduled for release in the second quarter of 2026.
Set against the backdrop of Siargao Island, the show explores the local myth of the “Siargao Curse,” a popular term among individuals who either visit the island and never want to leave or return repeatedly. The so-called “curse” often leads to several visitors embracing the island life. However, the series introduces another version of the curse, which prompts visitors to “lose their heart to love.”
“Love, Siargao” follows Jao (Richards) and Kara (Lustre), who see the island through differing lenses. Different people with different principles, the pair’s love story unfolds through highlighting the vibrant atmosphere in the island—from its stunning beaches, scrumptious dishes, and the warmth of Filipino culture.
Other details about the series have yet to be released, but it will stream exclusively on Viu.
Last year, Richards, alongside his co-star Kathryn Bernardo, accumulated multiple awards and nominations through the “Hello, Love, Again” movie. The romance film also became the highest-grossing Filipino movie, receiving recognition in the Manila International Film Festival (MIFF) and the Asian World Film Festival.
Meanwhile, Lustre recently starred in Jun Robles Lana’s “Call Me Mother,” a Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry in 2025. The said film also nabbed several awards during the MMFF’s Gabi ng Parangal, including the Best Actor award for Vice Ganda and the Best Child Performer Award for Lucas Andalio.
