Actor Albie Casiño responded with a biting remark to apparel designer Ellis Co’s statement regarding accusations against his father, Ako Bicol Party-list Rep. Elizaldy Co, and his own integrity as co-founder of a local fashion line.

“Your music sucks your fashion sense sucks you and your family all suck,” Casiño said through his account, @thestallion09, in the comments section of Co’s lengthy statement.

In addition, Casiño shared an article through his Instagram stories about Co’s rap song titles, released under the stage name Ellis G, being “yayamanin” or drawing from high-end living, like “Big Money,” “Black Lexus,” and “Shangri-La.”

Others in the comments section told Co to simply contact his father and have him return to the Philippines and questioned how he could imply he was “self-made” while enjoying the privilege of his connections.

In his statement posted on Instagram, Co tried to distance himself from his father’s allegedly ill-gotten wealth, saying he did not pursue college, moved away from his family, and has been “working for (his) money” since he was 16. He stated that he stands with the Filipino people against corruption and is “deeply ashamed” of his family ties. Moreover, he urges his father to “appear before the people and be accountable.”

Rep. Elizaldy “Zaldy” Co co-founded and is believed to remain a beneficial owner of Sunwest Inc., despite his divestment in 2019. Sunwest Inc. ranked eighth among the top 15 contractors that had cornered a bulk of the government’s flood control projects.

Co's former security consultant, Orly Regala Guteza, implicated several high-ranking lawmakers in the flood control scandal, claiming that he once served as a courier for the so-called "basura" or suitcases filled with cash.
