The Philippines secured its best-ever finish in the Southeast Asian Volleyball Cup after Alas Pilipinas Women captured a historic silver medal in the 2026 SEA V Cup Leg 2 on Sunday, August 9.

Alas Pilipinas sealed the milestone with a hard-fought 25-13, 23-25, 25-19, 33-31 victory over Indonesia, overcoming a tense fourth set to close out the match.

The Filipinas showed resilience down the stretch, saving eight set points in the extended fourth frame before finally putting the match away, underscoring their composure in one of the tournament’s most gripping finishes.

The silver medal marked the country’s highest placement in SEA V Cup history and propelled the Philippines five spots up to No. 53 in the latest FIVB World Rankings.

Individual honors also highlighted the team’s campaign, with Alyssa Solomon earning her fourth Best Opposite Spiker award — and second straight — while Eya Laure took home her first international recognition as Best Outside Hitter.

The strong showing serves as a boost for Alas Pilipinas as it prepares for its next major test: the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, set from September 19 to October 4.

The Philippines is drawn in Pool B alongside China and Kazakhstan in the continental meet.
