

Filipino basketball coach Jimmy Alapag has won his first NBA title.
Alapag together with the Sacramento Kings brought home the 2021 NBA Summer League title after routing the Boston Celtics 100-67, on Tuesday, August 17, at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States.
Alapag, who serves as assistant coach for the Kings, expressed his gratitude for the team for allowing him to become part of their triumph.
"What an amazing experience here in Vegas for the NBA Summer League!! Thankful to have been a part of such a special group of people, from the coaching staff, trainers and support staff, to the players," Alapag said on Thursday, August 19, in an Instagram post.
"Watching the team come together over the past few weeks was amazing to watch," he added.
This is the second stint of Alapag with Sacramento since the 43-year old former basketball player also joined the coaching staff of the team for the 2019 NBA Summer League
Alapag previously served as assistant coach of the Philippine national men's basketball team also known as Gilas Pilipinas, and he also called the shots for Alab Pilipinas in the ASEAN Basketball League.
