Miss Universe Philippines Ma. Ahtisa Manalo made a resounding statement at the Miss Universe 2025 Preliminary Competition on Wednesday, November 19, in Bangkok.
The Quezon native captivated the judges and audience during the evening gown segment in a stunning midnight blue creation by renowned Filipino couturier Mak Tumang.
The gown, named "Pinctada" after the pearl oyster, featured intricate crystal work and sunburst detailing, symbolizing the South Sea pearl.
Manalo also presented a spirited performance during the swimsuit round, donning a blue two-piece suit. The beauty queen flaunted her toned physique and trademark viral pivot move, demonstrating powerful stage presence and a radiant smile that energized the arena.
In the National Costume segment, Manalo brought the spirit of Filipino fiestas to the global stage in another Mak Tumang masterpiece: “Festejada: The Queen of Philippine Festivals.”
She wore an intricately embroidered, bell-sleeved piña camisa, paired with a vibrant saya adorned with thousands of colorful petals arranged in a star-lantern motif — a nod to the Philippines’ famed parol tradition.
The elaborate costume celebrated the diversity and festivity of Filipino culture, earning praise from pageant enthusiasts online.
The Miss Universe 2025 coronation night is scheduled to take place on November 21 at the Impact Muong Thong Thani Arena in Bangkok, Thailand, where the Philippines vies for its fifth Miss Universe title.
