The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) has not received any new reports of supposed recruitments among their ranks to power a destabilization attempt against the administration.

According to a Wednesday report by RH 52 Edniel Parrosa, this was AFP Public Affairs Chief Col. Xerxes Trinidad’s response to Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson’s statement, claiming that several retired military veterans were calling on active soldiers to join their cause.

At the sidelines of the Balikatan Exercises in San Antonio, Zambales, Trinidad emphasized that this report must be validated first before it is taken seriously.

He stressed that the army stands firm in its adherence to the chain-of-command.

Additionally, he assured that the soldiers’ morale and participation in activities such as the Philippines-US War Games remains unaffected by the allegation.

Earlier, the Palace also dismissed the rumored uprising. While Palace Press Officer Claire Castro admitted that Senator Lacson’s statements are backed by evidence, she expressed confidence that government agencies would pick up on a destabilization plot.
