The Philippine National Police (PNP) will remain on full alert despite the conclusion of the 2025 midterm and local elections.

PNP Chief Public Information Officer PCol. Randulf Tuaño explained that the police force will stay on full alert until the proclamation of election winners across the country is completed.

Tuaño made the statement alongside reports that 97.87% of election paraphernalia had been returned as of yesterday.

Meanwhile, according to the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), over 99 percent of election returns had been transmitted just two days after the polls.

"Ang PNP po ay nagsimula ng full alert noong May 3 at ito po ay mananatili hanggang matapos ng 100% ang bilangan," Tuaño stated.

Furthermore, Tuaño confirmed that no police officers were arrested for participating in political campaigns or acting as escorts for candidates.

Similarly, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) echoed this sentiment, with Chief of Staff Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr. expressing his gratitude to the soldiers for their efforts.

Brawner highlighted that the military successfully carried out its mandate to protect polling centers, assist in the transportation of election paraphernalia, and augment security in critical areas.

The PNP and AFP referred to the May 12 elections as 'generally peaceful,' despite the occurrence of 27 election-related incidents, which resulted in nine fatalities.
