The LRT-1 will temporarily have limited operations due to an electrical fault between Redemptorist-Aseana Station and Baclaran Station, the Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) announced early Wednesday, June 18.

For now, trains can only operate from Gil Station to Fernando Poe Jr. Station and vice versa. The LRMC said its engineering team is currently on-site to actively address the electrical fault located between the two stations mentioned.

The team is also conducting a thorough assessment of their catenary facilities to resolve the issues, and necessary repairs will follow.

“These proactive measures are crucial for ensuring safety and reliability across the entire LRT-1 system. LRMC is committed to providing continuous service to our passengers. We are closely monitoring the situation and will provide real-time updates as progress is made,” the LRMC’s announcement read.

“We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by this unforeseen incident,” it added.

Commuters are encouraged to plan their trips accordingly and to stay informed through the LRMC’s official channels for advisories and updates.
