Tropical Depression Ada has weakened into a low pressure area as of 2:00 PM on Wednesday, January 21, the PAGASA said.
According to the state weather bureau’s tropical cyclone formation outlook, Ada is being monitored inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and is unlikely to develop into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours.
Meanwhile, PAGASA’s tropical cyclone bulletin issued at 5:00 PM indicates that “Ada” was located at 1,285 km East of Central Luzon. It has a central pressure of 1004 hPa and is currently moving southeastward at 20 km/h.
No Tropical Cyclone Wind Signals (TCWS) are hoisted as of writing.
The PAGASA cited “dry air entrainment from the surge of the northeast monsoon” as the reason why “Ada” weakened into an LPA.
“The remnant low will continue to move southeastward to southward and may dissipate within the next 48 hours,” the PAGASA wrote.
