Just days after taking his oath as a lawyer, actor Jerico “Nico” Antonio was sworn in as a board member of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB).
The oath-taking ceremony for Antonio and another newly-appointed board member, Sarah-Ingrid Aurelia Sia, was led by MTRCB Chairperson and CEO Lala Sotto on Monday, February 9, 2026, at the MTRCB Liezl Martinez Hall in Quezon City.
Both appointees were named by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., succeeding their predecessors whose terms had concluded.
On Instagram, Antonio joyfully shared the milestone in his life as a public servant, expressing gratitude for the opportunity.
“Ang bagong kabanata ng aking buhay: public servant. MTRCB Board Member. Maraming salamat po, Panginoon, sa pagkakataong ito,” he wrote.
Antonio recently passed the Bar exams, marking a transition from his acting career to law—a journey he described as #fromreeltoreals.
He appeared as a lawyer in the 51st Metro Manila Film Festival entry "Unmarry," starring Angelica Panganiban and Zanjoe Marudo.
Meanwhile, among the over 5,000 newly sworn-in lawyers on February 6, 2026, was former actor-model Luke Jickain, highlighting the growing number of personalities making the leap from entertainment to law.
