Security forces from the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Philippine Army have discovered an abandoned Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) hideout and various war materials in the mountainous area of Sitio Sagideng, Barangay Taga, Pinukpuk, Kalinga on December 11, 2025.

The joint operation was launched following critical information provided by a former CTG member who recently surrendered. Acting on verified intelligence, troops carefully searched the identified location, leading to the recovery of several explosives and ammunition, including an MK augmentation hand grenade, a 48mm high-explosive cartridge, two rifle grenades, and 30 rusted bullets.

Authorities also seized sacks of rice, assorted medicines and medical supplies, electrical cords, ropes, USB drives, and cellphone chargers believed to have been left behind by the group.

Police and military officials said the successful mission reflects the strengthened cooperation between security forces and communities, as well as ongoing government efforts under the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP).
