The long-running digital project of visual artist Geloy Concepcion, "Things You Wanted To Say But Never Did," is set to open its first-ever gallery exhibition from April 18 to July 12 at the Ateneo Art Gallery.
What began in 2019 as a simple online prompt—asking, “What are the things you wanted to say but never did?”—has grown into a vast emotional archive, receiving nearly 300,000 anonymous messages and publishing more than 3,000 notes.
Over six years, it has evolved into a global collection of confessions, reflections, and unsent words.
For its gallery debut, the exhibition brings together selections from the online series alongside newly gathered letters from across the Philippines.
Installed across two spaces, it traces the project’s shift from digitally submitted messages inscribed onto film photographs to community-sourced written notes gathered through volunteer networks.
In a recent social media post, Concepcion shared his excitement, writing that the project has “grown into an archive of sentiment, shaped by anonymity,” noting that the confessions “arrive without names, but somehow, they belong to all of us.”
He also emphasized the exhibition’s participatory nature, inviting visitors to leave their own notes and continue the ongoing exchange of anonymous stories.
Rooted in his practice of relational portraiture, Concepcion’s work reflects on intimacy, distance, and consent in representation—turning private emotions into a shared, living archive of human connection.
