

At least 97 new members of the House of Representatives will undergo a seminar before the start of the 20th Congress.
On Friday, June 20, RH Milky Rigonan reported that at least 97 new House members will go through an orientation and seminar before the 20th Congress begins on July 28.
House Secretary General Reginald Velasco said 69 of the new members are district representatives, while 28 are from party-list groups.
Moreover, about 317 lawmakers are expected to be in office for the 20th Congress.
Velasco said that first-time congressmen were invited to take an “Executive Course on Legislation” so that lawmakers are informed on the process and creation of new laws.
The first batch of orientation and seminar will be conducted from June 23 to June 25. Meanwhile, the second batch will be held from July 7 to July 9.
Incumbent Congressmen were also invited to provide their experiences while in office, including the process of creating and passing laws.
