The Southern Police District (SPD) has rescued eight-month-old twin boys who were allegedly sold by their mother for ₱27,000 in Candaba, Pampanga, following an investigation that led to the arrest of three suspects.

According to the report by RH Jecelle Ricafort and the statement posted, the SPD said the twins were recovered on October 25 through a joint operation involving the Taguig City Police Station, Candaba Municipal Police Station, intelligence personnel, and social welfare agencies under the district’s “Timpuyog” initiative.

The case stemmed from a complaint filed by the twins’ maternal grandmother, who reported their alleged transfer to a woman their mother had met through Facebook.

Investigators said the 24-year-old mother, identified only as alias “DSG,” allegedly handed over the children to alias “CMPF,” 32, who reportedly paid her ₱27,000 through an online money transfer and an additional ₱3,000 in cash.

Authorities arrested CMPF in Aurora on October 19. During questioning, she allegedly disclosed that she had transferred the twins to a couple in Pampanga.

Further investigation indicated that the woman allegedly arranged the transfer of the children to the couple for ₱30,000, presenting the transaction as an adoption arranged online. The couple reportedly surrendered the twins to authorities after learning that the children had allegedly been sold, believing they had been abandoned.

Police arrested the live-in partners, identified as aliases “JSC,” 38, and “SJAG,” 36, in Candaba on October 25 and recovered the twins from their custody.

During the earlier operation in Aurora, authorities also rescued two other minors, approximately 10 years old and six months old, who were placed under the protective custody of social welfare personnel for assessment.

The three suspects face complaints for alleged violations of Republic Act No. 11862, or the Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2022, and other applicable child protection laws.

The investigation is ongoing to verify the reported financial transactions and establish the respective roles and possible criminal liability of all individuals involved, including the twins’ mother.
