Eight bettors have sought the assistance of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) over alleged unpaid winnings totaling ₱5 billion from an online gambling platform, filing complaints against the operator, several Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) officials, and its affiliates.
According to the report of RH Jecelle Ricafort, one bettor, identified as alias JR, claimed he won ₱570 million through a “lucky spin” in March 2025 but was told by customer service that a system “glitch” invalidated his win. He alleged that he was pressured into signing a waiver relinquishing further claims in exchange for ₱300,000 in assistance.
Another bettor, alias Kat, claimed she won ₱485 million in March 2025 and ₱539 million in April but received nothing despite presenting videos and screenshots as evidence. She also alleged that her appeal to PAGCOR did not result in assistance.
The bettors’ lawyer, Atty. Leo La Victoria, said those found responsible could face charges of coercion, estafa, and violations of the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act, subject to the NBI’s findings.
NBI-National Capital Region Director Emeterio Dongallo Jr. assured the complainants that their allegations would be thoroughly evaluated before the bureau determines whether subpoenas should be issued.
“Check natin yung allegation nila kung mayroong [na-violate] na rule of law. From there, tingnan po natin bago tayo mag-issue ng subpoena kung kailangan,” Dongallo said.
