The Gymnastics Associations of the Philippines (GAP) has officially welcomed delegations from 74 countries set to participate in the 3rd FIG Artistic Gymnastics Junior World Championships, which will be held in Manila.

The prestigious world championships are scheduled to open at the Manila Marriott Hotel Grand Ballroom in Newport World Resorts on Thursday, November 20.

GAP President Cynthia Carrion stated that participants began arriving in the country over the past weekend, with nearly 750 athletes expected to compete in the 2025 edition of the event.

Carrion noted that the significant participation underscores the growing global interest in the Olympic sport of gymnastics, with many FIG-member countries sending their most promising young gymnasts as a crucial step in their development program.

The host nation, the Philippines, will be bannered by rising stars, including Karl Eldrew Yulo, the younger brother of two-time Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo, and Elisabeth Antone.

The young Filipino duo recently showed their potential on the continental stage. Karl Eldrew Yulo captured a silver medal in the men's vault, while Antone secured a bronze medal in the Women's All-Around at the Asian Artistic Gymnastics Junior Championships held in South Korea last June.

Carrion emphasized that while Filipino gymnasts like Carlos Yulo, Aleah Finnegan, and Emma Malabuyo are already demonstrating strength on the world stage, the continuous enhancement of the Philippine Gymnastics Program is essential.

GAP is hopeful that the participation of the nation's young gymnasts in this prestigious competition will provide them with further inspiration and confidence as they transition into the senior ranks.

The event will be held from November 20 to 24.
