Seven public hospitals operated by the Manila city government have been placed under Code White Alert amid heavy rains on Saturday, August 29.

The following hospitals are among those included:

  • Gat Andres Bonifacio Medical Center
  • Ospital ng Tondo
  • Justice Jose Abad Santos General Hospital
  • Mayor Ramon Bagatsing General Hospital (formerly Ospital ng Sampaloc)
  • Ospital ng Maynila Medical Center
  • Santa Ana Hospital
  • President Corazon C. Aquino General Hospital

According to a report by RH Tina Nolasco, Manila OIC-City Health Officer Dr. Grace Padilla reported the declaration to Manila Mayor Isko Moreno, saying it aims to ensure the city's readiness amid the inclement weather.

Under Code White Alert, medical personnel, emergency response teams, and operations centers are placed on 24/7 standby to ensure a rapid response to disasters and medical emergencies.

The declaration came as the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) raised a Red Rainfall Warning over the National Capital Region (NCR), with flooding reported in several parts of Manila.

The city government has also activated evacuation centers, district welfare offices, and health centers across Manila as Luzon continues to experience heavy and persistent rains.
