

At least 67 people were injured after two Victory Liner buses collided along Marcos Highway in Tuba, Benguet on Saturday evening, May 30.
According to a report by RH Romy Gonzales, the road crash occurred at around 8:35 p.m. in Sitio Caucalan, Barangay Taloy Sur, involving a southbound Victory Liner bus bound for Dagupan City from Baguio City and another Victory Liner bus traveling toward Baguio.
Based on the initial investigation, the bus headed to Dagupan City, bearing body number 2025, reportedly lost its brakes while traversing a curved section of the highway. The vehicle then crashed into the oncoming bus before overturning on the roadway.
Authorities and rescue teams immediately responded to the scene to assist passengers from both buses and transport the injured to nearby medical facilities.
According to the Philippine Red Cross (PRC), the two buses were carrying an estimated 87 passengers at the time of the accident. Injured passengers were brought to various hospitals for treatment, with 52 patients taken to Baguio General Hospital and another 15 admitted to La Union Medical Center in Agoo, La Union.
The PRC deployed two ambulances as part of the emergency response and transported two patients to Baguio General Hospital. Welfare teams were also sent to hospitals to assist affected passengers and their families, verify patient information, and coordinate immediate needs on the ground.
The PRC said it continues to coordinate with authorities and hospitals while monitoring the condition of the injured passengers.
Meanwhile, authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the crash.
