

The Police Regional Office 8 (PRO-8) announced on Wednesday that it arrested 61 wanted persons during Simultaneous Anti-Criminality and Law Enforcement Operations (SACLEO) across Eastern Visayas on May 19.
“Of the 61 arrested wanted persons, Leyte Police Provincial Office recorded the highest number with 20 arrests, followed by the Eastern Samar Police Provincial Office with 12, Northern Samar PPO with 9, Ormoc City Police Office with 6, Southern Leyte PPO with 6, Tacloban City Police Office with 5, and Samar PPO with 1 arrest,” PRO-8 reported.
The suspects were allegedly involved in various offenses under the Revised Penal Code, including rape, acts of lasciviousness, robbery, qualified theft, inflicting serious physical injuries, homicide, as well as violations of special laws and local ordinances.
Operatives of the Naval Municipal Police Station and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Biliran Provincial Field Unit (PFU), Biliran Regional Investigation Unit (RIU), among other law enforcement agencies apprehended the No. 7 regional most wanted person.
Alias “Ben,” 42, married, unemployed, and a resident of Naval, Biliran was arrested pursuant to an arrest warrant issued over seven counts of violation under Section 5(b) Article III of Republic Act 7610 or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act.
His bail was set at ₱200,000 for each case, with his rape case having no recommended bail. The suspect was taken to the Naval Municipal Police Station (MPS) for proper disposition.
Alias “Deo,” 44, a cook, was ranked the No. 8 most wanted person in Ormoc City for charges in relation to qualified rape with no bail recommended, three counts of acts of lasciviousness with a recommended bail of ₱10,000. He was also arrested by Ormoc City Police Station 6 (OCPS 6) officers and is currently under the custody of OCPS 6 for documentation and proper disposition.
PRO-8 Head PBGen. Jason L. Capoy commended the operatives for their intensified efforts in the campaign against criminality.
“The successful implementation of our simultaneous law enforcement operations reflect the strong coordination and operational readiness of our personnel in ensuring that wanted persons are brought before the bar of justice. We will continue to intensify our operations to maintain peace and order in the entire Eastern Visayas,” Capoy said.
