Around 60,000 people are expected to visit the San Juan City Cemetery for All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days or “Undas” based on historic data, according to a Thursday report.

In a single day, likely on November 1, about 35,000 may flock to the cemetery, reported RH 52 Edniel Parrosa.

In view of this, San Juan City Mayor Francisco Zamora said he has eased restrictions enforced by the no-contact apprehension policy (NCAP) for the portion of the road in front of the cemetery.

The road, Colonel Bonny Serrano Avenue, formerly Santolan Road, is considered a major thoroughfare which connects San Juan City to Camp Crame in Quezon City via EDSA.

Zamora, who serves as the President of the Metro Manila Council (MMC), said he leaves it up to the discretion of other local governments to implement similar measures for Undas.

“Maglalabas nalang po tayo ng order… na during the duration of Undas 2026, we will, of course, give our visitors of the cemetery the opportunity to park dito po sa tapat ng sementeryo,” Zamora told reporters.

The mayor made the statement during his inspection of the cemetery ahead of Undas.

Cemetery operations will be extended from 10 a.m. to 12 m.n. starting October 26. Guns, sharp or bladed objects, alcohol, illegal drugs, and noise-making devices, permits sales, bicycles, and motorcycles are not permitted within the cemetery premises.
