Sixty housing units were officially turned over to residents of Barangay Kabungkol, Talipao, Sulu, as part of the Kapyanan special project implemented under the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
According to a report by RH Jun Dimacutac, the units include solar-powered lighting and basic water system components.
The turnover ceremony, led by Engr. Jordan Katog, conveyed the gratitude of Kapyanan project manager Abdullah “Dong” Cusain and BARMM Chief Minister Abdulraof Macacua to the provincial and local government offices, traditional leaders, and concerned citizens for their support in the simultaneous handover.
The Kapyanan program aims to provide decent housing and essential services to the Bangsamoro people, including communities in Sulu, which remains recognized for its significant contributions to the Bangsamoro struggle despite now being officially part of Region IX.
This initiative coincides with the seventh founding anniversary of the Bangsamoro government, themed “BARMM 2026: Simbolo ng Pagkakaisa, Ala-ala sa mga sakripisyo at pagpapatunay ng mas matatag na Bangsamoro”.
