Six of the remaining police officers accused in the rape and robbery of a Grade 9 student in Cavite have surrendered, Acting Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. announced on Monday.

“The remaining six identified police officers, who are involved doon ay one by one nag-surrender,” Nartatez said during a press conference at Camp Crame, RH Ednilea Parrosa reported.

The surrender follows the earlier arrest of eight out of 14 members of the PNP Drug Enforcement Group–Special Operations Unit (PDEG-SOU) 4A, who were taken into custody over the alleged rape of an 18-year-old ninth-grade live streamer, identified only as “Nena,” in Calamba City, Laguna, early Sunday morning.

The suspects are facing charges for violating Republic Act 8353, or the Anti-Rape Law, as well as Robbery in Band.

During the arrest operation, authorities seized eight firearms, a mobile phone, a government-owned Toyota Innova with red plates, the victim’s yellow Mio i125 motorcycle, and two sealed sachets of suspected crystal meth (“shabu”) valued at ₱584,000, among other items.

On November 24, the commander of PDEG-SOU CALABARZON was relieved from his post following accusations that 14 of his personnel were involved in the rape and robbery incident in Bacoor, Cavite.

Earlier, PNP spokesperson Brig. Gen. Randulf Tuaño confirmed that the police colonel was removed due to “command responsibility.”

The eight arrested officers—including their team leader, a police lieutenant—and the six officers who were surrendered ealier, were also relieved.

The 14 officers were accused of breaking into a residence and assaulting the Grade 9 student on November 22.
