Six more personnel of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) have been relieved of their posts over alleged irregularities in flood control projects handled by the Davao City 1st District Engineering Office.
The move followed the National Bureau of Investigation’s (NBI) recommendation to file charges against individuals allegedly involved in questionable flood control projects awarded to contractor Genesis88.
Among those removed were DPWH Bicol Region OIC-Assistant Regional Director Ferdinand Dallo, Davao City 1st OIC-District Engineer Emilio Sucaldito Jr., and district office officials and engineers Kristine Apao, Kim Anthony Duque, Aljun Barcoma, and Alexander Omadley.
The personnel changes are part of the government’s efforts to address alleged corruption in public infrastructure projects.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. had earlier ordered the removal of government officials and personnel found involved in corruption and the misuse of public funds as part of broader reforms within the agency.
