Six airport personnel have been dismissed from service after testing positive for illegal drugs during a random drug test conducted by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP).
CAAP reported that out of 1,703 personnel tested, six were found positive: one from General Santos International Airport, three from Butuan Airport, one from Ozamiz Airport, and one from Bacolod-Silay Airport.
The agency said the dismissal is part of its commitment to uphold the directives of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon to strictly monitor personnel and ensure accountability within the aviation sector.
“In line with the directives of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon, CAAP continues to enforce strict monitoring protocols and reinforce personnel accountability to safeguard passenger safety and maintain public trust,” CAAP stated.
