Five Automated Counting Machines (ACMs) encountered technical issues at Nemesio I. Yabut Senior High School in Makati City on Monday, election day.

As reported by RH Jecelle Ricafort, school principal Edwin Salviejo told DZRH that one of the Automated Counting Machines (ACMs) had to be replaced.

Technical issues were reported at around 1:30 p.m. involving multiple ACMs, including one that could no longer receive ballots or print voter receipts.

Moreover, DESO technical support advised the replacement of the faulty ACM, noting that the issue could not be resolved through standard troubleshooting.

The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) classifies technical issues with Automated Counting Machines (ACMs) into three levels. Level 1 issues can be resolved through basic troubleshooting by technical support.

Level 2 cases are referred to COMELEC's IT experts, while Level 3 issues require intervention from the service provider.

Voters from Barangay Pinagkaisahan who were affected were informed that they could proceed with voting and leave their ballots with members of the Electoral Board (EB).

Alternatively, voters who are uncomfortable leaving their ballots with the Electoral Board may choose to come back at a later time to cast their votes.
