Five more individuals involved in the hazing of a 19-year-old maritime student in Cavite, causing his death, have surrendered to authorities, according to a Monday report.
In a press conference at Camp Crame, Philippine National Police (PNP) Spokesperson PBGen. Randulf Tuaño said one member of the Tau Gamma Phi fraternity turned himself over to the Dasmariñas local government unit (LGU).
Four others gave themselves up to General Trias authorities.
Earlier, the driver of the vehicle that brought the victim to the General Trias Medical Center had also voluntarily yielded to law enforcement.
This came after Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jonvic Remulla, as well as the fraternity leadership itself, appealed to those involved in the initiation rites to come forward.
Tuaño said the alleged “master initiator” is currently under review and is being sought by police.
