Five people were killed after a bili coconut tree fell on a house made of light materials in Barangay Cawayanin, Pitogo, Quezon on Sunday, according to a report by Benjie Antioquia.

The Quezon Provincial Police Office confirmed the incident to DZRH News.

Initial reports indicate that the victims were members of the same family living in the house that was struck by the falling tree.

Responders from the Quezon Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) immediately conducted retrieval operations at the site.

Earlier, Quezon Province was at the center of Tropical Storm Ramil, with Pitogo placed under Signal No. 1.
